Why do cows dance on the first of the month?
Because of a meme. In the 1995 Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song "1st of tha Month", the 1st is the day the checks arrive and everybody wakes up happy. A fan edit put that song over dancing cartoon cows, and people started reposting it on the 1st of every month. Now the cows dance every month as a joke ritual, and in November 2026 TikTok creators began making realistic AI versions.
Why cows dance on the first of the monthWhat is the "Wake up, it's the first of the month" meme?
It is a recurring meme posted on the first day of every month: dancing cows plus the line "wake up, it’s the first of the month". It started as a fan edit of an animated film clip with the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song, and every month it spikes again on TikTok, X and Instagram.
The first of the month meme explainedHow do I make my own dancing cow video?
Pick Classic Cows (no photo), My Pet or Me + Cows, choose the month, sign in with Google and pick a pack. The 10-second vertical video starts right after you pay and takes about 5–10 minutes. Download the MP4 and post it on the 1st.
Dancing cow AI guideCan my dog or cat dance with the cows?
Yes. Choose My Pet and add one clear photo of your pet. It keeps its breed, fur colors and markings and dances in the middle of three Holstein cows.
First of the month pet videoHow much does it cost?
$6.99 for 1 video, $14.99 for 3 videos or $24.99 for 6 videos, paid once with no subscription. Videos never expire, so a 3-pack covers the next three months. If a video fails, it is returned to your balance automatically. There are no free videos.
Can I add the song on TikTok?
Yes. Our video comes with its own instrumental beat and no lyrics. In the TikTok editor tap "Add sound", search "1st of tha Month" and pick the trending sound. TikTok licenses the music in its library; we do not include the song in the file.
How long does it take?
The video usually takes 5–10 minutes. You can close the page; we email you when it is ready and it waits in My videos.
Can I post it on TikTok?
Yes. It is a vertical 9:16 MP4 made for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, with no watermark. Keep the AI label and say it is AI-generated when you post it.
Are my photos stored?
Uploads are private, used only for your video and deleted automatically 7 days after upload. Finished videos are kept for 30 days after they finish. We never use your photos to train AI. Deleting your account removes everything right away.
Can I use someone else’s photo?
Only an adult who agreed. Never a minor, and never a celebrity or public figure. Accounts that break these rules are closed.
Is this official?
No. First of the Month Cows is an unofficial fan tool. It is not affiliated with the rights holders of the film Barnyard, with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony or with TikTok.
Which AI model do you use?
Videos are generated with Kling 4.0 by Kuaishou. Every video is labeled as AI-generated.
